The History of Eco Park, Newtown
Eco Park in Kolkata was developed by the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) and was officially opened to the public in 2012. The park was designed to be an eco-friendly urban park spread over 480 acres in the New Town area of Kolkata.
The park was developed in phases and is still expanding. Eco Park's construction was a part of the larger effort to establish the New Town area of Kolkata. The park was designed by noted urban designer Mr Pradeep Jain and his team. This park has won several awards for its innovative design and eco-friendly features and has contributed to the development of Kolkata's tourism industry.
