The History of Hyderabad

Various dynasties and rulers have shaped Hyderabad's history spanning over 400 years. The city was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in 1591 and named after his wife. The Qutb Shahi dynasty ruled the city for over 160 years, constructing iconic monuments like the Charminar and the Golconda Fort. Hyderabad was then conquered by Aurangzeb in 1687, and the Asaf Jahi dynasty, known as the Nizams of Hyderabad, became the region's rulers in 1724.

During their rule, the city witnessed significant development in arts, culture, and education, with several landmarks, such as the Chowmahalla Palace and Osmania University, being constructed. Hyderabad became part of the Indian Union in 1948 after the Indian army overthrew the last Nizam. Today, Hyderabad is a thriving metropolis and a hub for various industries. Despite its modernization, the city has preserved its rich cultural heritage and continues to attract tourists from all over the world.
