By Road:
Reaching the Samthar Plateau by road involves taking the National Highway 10 (NH10) from Siliguri towards the east for approximately 72 km until you reach the Kalijhora area. From there, turn right towards the Kalimpong-Damsang road and drive around 17 km until you reach the Rambi Bazar area.
Then, take the right turn towards the Samthar Plateau and drive around 15 km to reach your destination. The road is well-maintained, but the last few kilometres leading to the plateau can be challenging due to the narrow and steep incline. Despite this, the journey is worth it due to the spectacular scenery of lush green forests, rolling hills, and occasional glimpses of the Kanchenjunga peak. Hiring a local driver familiar with the area is recommended to make the journey more comfortable and safe.
